Étonnamment différentes et plus sophistiquées que tout ce qui a été vu auparavant, les oeuvres d’Alexandra Bahlmann demeurent depuis plus de 20 ans une révolution dans l’univers des chaînes et des maillons.

Formée à la Gerrit Rietveld Académie à Amsterdam puis avec Hermann Jünger à Munich à la fin des années 80, elle a par la suite enseigné à Hanau et à providence aux USA, et est devenue une référence dans le domaine du bijou d’auteur.

Récompensée par de nombreux prix, dont le prix de l’innovation à Inhorgenta en 2000, le prix des arts appliqués de Frankfort en 1997, ou encore le prix de la ville de Munich en 1994, elle a trouvé un langage distinctif avec une combinaison créative de pièces préfabriquées par moulage, associées à des composants insérés à la main.

Surprisingly different and more sophisticated than anything seen before, Alexandra Bahlmann’s works have been a revolution in the world of chains and links for over 20 years. With poetry and an impressive technicality, her work bridges the gap between art and fashion.

Trained at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and then with Hermann Jünger in Munich at the end of the 80s, she subsequently taught in Hanau and at Providence in the USA, and has become a reference within the jewelry scene.

Awarded with numerous prizes, including the innovation prize at inhorgenta in 2000, the applied arts prize in Frankfort in 1997, or the city of Munich prize in 1994, she has found a distinctive language with creative combination of prefabricated parts cast, paired with components inserted by hand.
